Football Fans,

We have a terrific week of football to look forward to this last week of February.  Tuesday and Wednesday the lunchtime schedule is packed, with both Champions League and EPL.  The action starts this afternoon, as Chelsea travel to Copenhagen for the 1st leg of their round of sixteen Champions League fixture.  The Blues will be keen to bounce back from their heart wrenching FA Cup loss on the weekend in our featured match of the day (with volume).  In our other Champions League match of the afternoon Lyon host Real Madrid.  This match, between the French and Spanish giants, will be featured on our second big screen.  Shortly after the Champions League matches kick off, we have Blackpool facing Tottenham in an English Premier League clash.  This game in hand match will be played on the upper shelf with volume, simultaneous to the Champions League action.  To round out a great Tuesday, CONCACAF Champions League (CCL) returns with the Columbus Crew playing host to Real Salt Lake in a quarterfinal 1st leg match (6pm).  The CCL pits the best sides from the Caribbean, and North and Central America against one another, and is a sister tournament to the UEFA Champions League.  Look for the Colorado Rapids in the 2011/12 version of this tourny, as they have earned their berth by winning the MLS Cup.

Wednesday lunchtime we have two great Champions League fixtures to look forward to.  First Marseille host Manchester United, with the French side knowing they will need a good result at home if they are keen to advance.  This match will be featured on our main big screen with volume.   On the second big screen (and the upper shelf with volume) we have a clash of titans between Italian side Inter Milan and German powerhouse Bayern Munich.  Only one of these storied clubs can advance, and it should be a hard fought series.  In the afternoons EPL fixture, Arsenal are set to face Stoke; however, this match will not be televised.  We will be streaming this game live on to one of the small corner TVs in the Pub for our Gunners fans.

Thursday is all about the Europa League.  Our two feature Europa matches involve English sides, and kick off back to back.  The first match has Liverpool facing Sparta Praha in the return leg of that series with an 11am kick off.  Then Man City host Aris Saloniki for the 1pm lunchtime kick off.  The Bulldog does have a feed for the rest of the Europa action, so come in and request your game if you support another team in the competition.

Saturday starts early at the Bulldog with an Npower Championship fixture between Swansea City and Leeds United.  Swansea sit third in the table and hold a three point advantage on Leeds.  Both sides are in the hunt for promotion to the Prem, and Leeds have a chance to pull themselves level with their opponents should they win.  The 8am slot brings us two EPL fixtures. Wigan, who are mired in the relegation battle, host league leaders Manchester United in our featured 8am match.  We also have a mid table clash between Everton and Sunderland.  Everton is riding high after knocking Chelsea out of the FA Cup, and could potentially pull themselves closer to a European spot with a win here.  The afternoon brings us La Liga, as Barcelona take on Mallorca at noon, followed by Deportivo La Coruna hosting Real Madrid at two.

Sunday morning the schedule is packed with great football, starting with an early open at 6:30am. West Ham, who have been glued to the bottom of the table, host Liverpool in this first match of the day.  Manchester City kick off against Fulham at 8am.  Due to an odd scheduling quirk, we will be featuring the first half of this match with volume in the main bar area.  The second half will be shown on the second big screen, and the upper shelf, as we move our focus to the Carling Cup Final at 9am.  Arsenal face Birmingham live from Wembley stadium in the 2010/11 edition of the final (www.bulldogsupporters.com/events/detail.php?eventID=44).  The bar will be decked out in Arsenal regalia, as the Gunners attempt to bring home their first silverware in quite some time against a determined Birmingham side.  The Colorado Gunners, the Bulldogs Arsenal supporters group (www.bulldogsupporters.com/colorado_gunners) will be hosting the event.  If you support Arsenal come on down and soak in the atmosphere for what promises to be a great final!
