International week at the Bulldog...

Mar 24th 2011

Its been a while since we havent seen a lot of mid weekfootball at the Bulldog, and with Europe on anInternational break our first games of the week kick off this Friday. Theaction starts with World Champions Spain takingon the Czech Republic Fridayafternoon at 2pm. This match leads right into Happy Hour, and could be anexcellent excuse to start your weekend early! We have Friday evening domesticfootball to enjoy as well, as Seattle host Houston withan 8pm kickoff in the Emerald City.

Saturday will be tremendous at the Bulldog, starting withthe morning Happy Hour (7am), and our first match of the day between Wales and England (www.bulldogsupporters.com/events/detail.php?eventID=53). This is a Euro 2012Qualifier, andthere will be no quarter given amongst these two neighbors. Wales, despitebeing a heavy underdog, has plenty of quality in their side. Many oftheir players ply their trade in the Premiership or Championship in England, andthey will be hungry for the upset against their familiar rivals. England manager Fabio Cappellohas asked John Terry to Captain his England side. Look for aninspired performance from him, and the rest of the Englandsquad, after a disappointing 0-0 tie against Montenegro in their last Euroqualifying match.

The afternoon and evening will be quitea party, with both the U.S. Mens National Team andour hometown boys the Colorado Rapids in action. It isnt every daythat the USMNT gets a chance to face Argentina, andthis match falls perfectly in to our afternoon Happy Hour at the Bulldog(3-7pm). Come and watch the likes of Messi, Cambiasso, and Mascherano take on a U.S. side that is boasting theirfull International roster. The Bulldogs atmosphere will be pumping, andour local American Outlaws chapter, will be loud and proud at the bar (www.bulldogsupporters.com/events/detail.php?eventID=54).

Last week we saw the Colorado Rapids opentheir 2011 season at home with a terrific performance against MLS newcomers Portland. TheRapids clicked on all cylinders, displaying an attractive style of attackingfootball, in addition to looking very stingy in the back. In short theyhave picked up where they left off from last season, and we have plenty ofgreat football to look forward to this year. Our Boys face Chivas awayfor Saturday nights featured match, and the BSG ishosting their away game viewing party at the Bulldog. Once again theatmosphere will be cracking, details can be found at www.bulldogsupporters.com/events/detail.php?eventID=55.

Early Sunday morning MST(12amSat.) the first race of the 2011 Formula 1 campaign commences in Australia. F1 is at the absolute pinnacle in terms of technology and drivers, andeach race is a true test of skill and nerves. The Bulldog will befeaturing F1 races throughout 2011, and has created a Fantasy League for fansof this World Class racing series (see details below). We will be showingthe AustralianGrand Prix live (volume only on the shelf), and replaying againat 4pm on Sunday (3/27). - www.bulldogsupporters.com/formula1.

I would like to give a shout out to my Dad to conclude this weeksupdate, as it his Birthday on Saturday. He loves the USMNT and hisfavorite player in the World is the little Lion, Messi. Heres to a great B-day Padre, enjoy the match, and thanks for instillingyour love and knowledge of the game in me!
