Football Fans,

Champions League Football returns this first week of April with some tantalizing quarterfinal match ups!  The action starts this afternoon with Tottenham travelling to the Bernabeau to face Real Madrid.  The Spurs have had a great year, and a positive result away against the Spaniards would be a big lift towards the semifinals, a goal that seemed impossible for them a few years ago.  The return of Christiano Ronaldo for Madrid, and Gareth Bale for Tottenham, should provide the fans with some terrific attacking football.   This will be our featured match (with volume) at 12:45pm today.  Our other Champions league fixture of the afternoon sees defending Champions Inter Milan take on Schalke at home (3pm with volume).  Inter fans are expecting a response to their derby loss on the weekend, although coach Leonardo is wary of the Schalke side.  despite having a poor run in the Bundesliga, their form has been stellar in Europe.  Talisman striker Raul will lead the Schalke attack in hopes of the elusive away goal at the San Siro.

Wednesdays Champions League clash between Chelsea and Manchester United is nothing short of epic, as the two 2008 finalists battle to advance.  The boys from Manchester took home the trophy in 2008 by the slimmest of margins (on pks), and Chelsea will be looking to revenge that loss.  Both teams are currently in a good run of form, and this encounter will surely bring out the best in them.  I am going to go out on a limb with the prediction that Fernando Torres opens his account for Chelsea against their much loathed rivals from the north.  I will not however attempt to pick a winner here, as it will be a dogfight to the bitter end!  This will be our featured match of the afternoon, played with volume on the main screen.  In our other Champions League fixture of the afternoon we have Barcelona facing Shakhtar Donetsk (3pm with volume).  Everyone expected Barca to be here, but Shakhtar has surprised a lot of people with their confident enterprising style of football.  Although the Catalonians are heavily favored, expect the Ukrainians to put up a hell of a fight.

Friday night will be one hell of a party at the Bulldog, as our Colorado Rapids travel to Texas to take on FC Dallas in a rematch of the 2010 MLS Cup Final.  The Hoops will be keen to try and revenge their loss, but it will be an uphill climb against a Rapids side that has never looked so good.  The Bulldog is hosting an away game viewing party (details at www.bulldogsupporters.com ), with pregame starting at 6:30pm.  My suggestion is to start your weekend early, and get your butt in a seat during Happy Hour, for what promises to be a hard fought and emotional contest.  Specials include $3 20oz Coors Light and $5 20oz Carlsberg for anyone wearing Rapids colors that comes out in support of their team.

Our weekend at the Bulldog is chock full of great football from around the globe.  We open early both Saturday (5:30am) and Sunday (6:30am) morning with English Premier League featured, and our morning Happy Hour and breakfast.  The early morning and afternoon sees some top tier La Liga and Serie A footy, and the evening brings us a full compliment of MLS fixtures.  To finish the weekend we will be featuring a replay of the Malaysian F1 Grand Prix (with volume) at 4pm on Sunday.  Cheers all, hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful Colorado Spring!
