Football Fans,

The Womens World Cup is in full swing, and the USA is off to a good start with a 2-0 win over North Korea.  There is a full slate of WWC matches throughout the week.  The Bulldog will be open an hour early every time the U.S. or England play, but will open at our regularly scheduled 11am on the other days.  We are taping all the games, so feel free to stop in and request a match if you miss something.

Copa America begins this week, hosted by Argentina.  This tournament consists of the ten National teams that make up CONMEBOL, and two teams invited from CONCACAF (Mexico & Costa Rica).  Just like the Gold Cup, there is a spot in the 2013 Confederations Cup at stake for the winner.  The tournament kicks off Friday evening, with host Argentina taking on Bolivia.  The Bulldog will be featuring all the action from this prestigious tournament, so well look forward to seeing our South American futbol fans coming down to support their nations.

The big event of the weekend is the Colorado Rapids Fourth of July celebration, as they take on the visiting Houston Dynamo.  Houston started out slow, but they have found their form of late.  The Rapids find themselves in a "must win" (to quote Gary Smith), situation.  As most of you know our overall record on the Fourth has been awesome, so this match may have come at the perfect time for the club.  The players thrive on the elevated atmosphere of a full stadium, so do your best to get out in support of our boys this Sunday.  The Terrace will be rocking, and a huge TIFO display is planned involving the entire crowd.  As always buses will be available from the Bulldog (reservations can be made at www.bulldogsupporters.com ).  If you arent taking the bus, be sure to make your way over to VIP west lot on the south side of the stadium to join in the supporters tailgate festivities.  Oh yeah, dont forget one of the biggest and best fireworks shows in the state follows the game.  There is no better way to celebrate our Independence Day than watching our hometown club do battle for ninety minutes.  Hope to see you up at the Park!
