This weeks action from the Bulldog

Football Fans,

You can dominate an entire game, but if you dont take your chances, anything can happen.  Japans win over the USA in the Final is a perfect example.  It was none the less a terrific match, and I hope everyone who came down to the Bulldog in support of our USWNT had a great time.

This week our highlight matches are the Semi finals and Finals of the Copa America tournament, the World Football Challenge matches, and the Colorado Rapids taking on two Eastern Clubs at home.  The first Copa America Semi falls on Tuesday with surprising Peru facing what me bay the last favorite in the tournament, Uruguay.  In the other Semi we have Paraguay taking on Venezuela.  Paraguay showed well at the Cup, and appear to be asserting themselves as a powerful football force in South America.  Both games should be heartily contested, and will make for some great mid week footy.

Everton, Manchester City, Juventus, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Sporting Lisbon, and a few other European sides are touring the States right now participating in the World Football Challenge.  Be sure to drop by in the evenings to see our domestic clubs face off against International competition.  Next week the MLS All Stars will take on Manchester United in a rematch of last years All star game, where they were scorched by the Red Devils.

Our Colorado Rapids are at home twice this week, and the Bulldog Supporters Group ( ) will be running buses to both matches from the Pub.  First our Boys take on the New York Red Bulls in a mid week clash.  NYRB are supposed to be the class of the East, but as we know the East can barely hold a candle to the Nations Western teams.  The Rapids showed some very positive signs against Seattle last week, and they know the importance of taking away points from these home fixtures.  Despite losing Conor Casey to a calf injury, the team seems to be inching closer and closer to playing the kind of ball that won them the title last season.  New York is full of "star" players, but the Rapids proved that isnt necessary to win titles in this league.  Coming right off the Wednesday fixture the team will face the New England Revolution on Saturday night.  This game should very well be the return of Mac Kandji to first team football with the Club.  As Im sure you all remember, Mac sacrificed his leg to punch home the game winner in overtime of last years Cup Final.  He will be a welcome offensive addition in the absence of Conor Casey.  If youre in town, make your way out to DSG and support our Boys!  We need the points, and they need the support!
