Friends of Football,
Weve been working hard to get the Three Lions ready for this first weekend in August, and weve met our goal.  The doors will open this morning at 11am, and we will have a full weekend of football on tap for everyone.  This afternoon our feature match is the Paul Scholes testimonial, where Manchester United take on the New York Cosmos.  Scholes is a legend in English football, and his old buddy Eric Cantona has put together a Cosmos side to face his former teammate in his final match with Man. U.
Tonight our Colorado Rapids face Eastern Conference powerhouse Columbus Crew.  The Rapids sent Columbus packing in last years playoffs, and Im sure the Crew have not forgotten the bitter taste of that defeat.  Kickoff is set for 7:30pm, and it should be a hard fought battle.  We do have a bus running from the Three Lions, with a 6:30pm departure time.  There are still a few spots available, so get your reservations in asap if you want to join the party (  There are plenty of great MLS fixtures to enjoy on Saturday evening. The highlight matches of the night are Sporting v Seattle, Salt Lake v New York, and Los Angeles v Dallas.
Championship football fires up this weekend, and we have matches both Saturday and Sunday morning  (The bar will open at 7:30am Saturday, and 6am Sunday morning).  The highlight Championship match of the weekend is West Ham v Cardiff early Sunday.  That match is directly followed by the Community Shield, which pits Manchester United v Manchester City in a classic derby for the first silverware of the year.  Other football highlights of the weekend include friendlies for Liverpool, Arsenal, and Barcelona, and Bayern Munich faces Munchen Gladbach in a Bundesliga fixture.
Hope everyone has a great weekend, and Ill look forward to seeing those of you that make your way down to the Three Lions!
