FootballFans,

The first International break for Club football is upon us, providing us withsome terrific matches over the next five days.  The action starts thisafternoon with England facing Bulgaria inEuro 2012 Qualifying.  England has only three games leftin the qualification process, and should they be victorious inBulgaria (and against Wales on Tuesday), they would most likely have securedtheir spot.  Anything less than victory in these next two matches, couldmean a nerve wracking playoff to earn their berth in next Summers prestigioustournament.  This is a lunchtime kickoff, and both Pubs will be offeringtheir Friday lunch specials during the match (Bulldog/Fish & Chips-ThreeLions/Burger or Oyster Po Boy).  The rest of the day fills out quitenicely with Spain facing Chile in a Friendly, and Germany taking on Austria in anotherimportant Euro Qualifier.  Friday evening we have a couple of greatCONCACAF fixtures to enjoy, with Canada taking on St.Lucia in a World Cup Qualifying, and the USMNT facingCosta Rica in an International Friendly.  Both Pubs willbe featuring the U.S. match with volume, and the game falls nicely into ourlate night Happy Hour.  Wear your colors and get out to support yourNational team for this unique Friday night kickoff.  This is Klinsmannssecond match in charge of the squad, and already he has reinvigorated theprogram with fresh ideas and new players.

Saturday we start early with Scotland facing a tough testagainst the Czech Republic in Euro 2012 Qualifying. The Scots are at home, and need a win to close a five point gap betweenthemselves and the Czechs.  They do hold a game in hand on theiropponents, and could realistically win the group if they are successfultomorrow.  The rest of the early morning and afternoon fills out withother qualifiers, and we finish the evening with the only MLS fixture on theweekend.  Philadelphia travel to Salt Lakelooking to halt a five game slide.  Right now Philly is perchedprecariously in the last wild card spot for MLS playoffs.  Salt Lake, scoundrels that they are, still hold a few games in hand on our belovedRapids.  So I say lets go Philly, give em the business!

The beginning of next week holds some excellent football in store for usas well.  Monday we have a great lunchtime friendly between Braziland Ghana, once again with both Pubs featuring lunchspecials.  Tuesday is the big day next week however, with Englandfacing Wales simultaneous to the USMNT takingon Belgium.  Both matches kickoff just after noon, andthe Pubs will be rocking for both games!

Whatever you do this Labor Day weekend, have a ball, and lets go USA andEngland!
