Football Fans,

Highlightsthis week include Champions League football at lunchtime both Tuesday andWednesday, a classic friendly between BrazilandArgentina Wednesday night, and plenty of great Europeanfootball on the weekend!

Tuesday lunchbrings us quite a few good Champions League fixtures, with the premier game ofthe day being BayernMunchen v ManchesterCity.  Bayern is back atop the Bundesliga, and lookingstronger than ever (21GF and 1GA in 7 games).  They face a City side thathas consistently grown in strength, and currently has an undefeated record inthe Premiership.  Arguably two of the better teams in the 2011/12 versionof the Champions League tournament battling one another.  In addition wehave Manchester United,Real Madrid,Ajax, Lyon, and quite a fewother great teams in action.

Wednesday sees Chelsea and Arsenal take on theirrespective Champions League foes, in addition to Barcelona, AC Milan, Leverkusen, and Dortmund all inaction.  In the evening we have a classic friendly between Brazil and Argentina kicking offat 6:45pm, followed by CONCACAF Champions League play.  First at 8pm the L.A. Galaxy host Morelia at the HomeDepot Center, directly followed by the Rapidstaking on Isidro Metapanaway (10:30pm).

Our weekendfootball starts out with a bang both days.  Saturday morning early we havethe Merseyside derbybetween Evertonand Liverpool(5:45am), and Sunday morning brings a classic North London derbybetween Tottenham andArsenal(9am).  Traditionally these matches are highly contested, with thesupporters bringing that extra element of elevated passion to thecontest.  Saturdays other highlight matches are in the evening with theMLS taking center stage.  First we have FC Dallas visiting Colorado, for a rematch of last yearsMLS Cup Final.  The Rapids started slow against San Joselast week, but looked formidable in the second half when they settled thingsdown and simplified their game.  They hope to show that form here againsta very tough Dallas side that sits above us in the table, with a game inhand.  Points are precious at this stage in the season, and this is one oftwo remaining home games.  Now is the time for all supporters of ourBurgundy Boys to get out in full force, and back the team as they try to cementtheir berth in the 2011 MLS Playoffs.  The BSG will be running buses fromboth Pubs, and hosting an Oktoberfest themed tailgate, in conjunction with thishuge home fixture.  Information and reservations can be made at http://www.bulldogsupporters.com/events/detail.php?eventID=137 .  Later in the evening the L.A. Galaxy face Real Salt Lake in aclash of two Western division powerhouses.  Should be a great way tofinish the night upon return from the Rapids match, as we can root for aSalt Lake loss!

Our Rugbyschedule for the week is below, with our highlight match being England v Scotlandon Fri. night/Saturday morning at 1:15am.   Cheers all, have agreat week, and dont forget to get out in support of your Colorado Rapids as they make their 2011 playoff push!
