FootballFans,

Tuesday and Wednesday are stacked with good matches in both the CONCACAFand UEFA Champions Leagues.  Tuesday day we haveGroup A leaders Bayern Munich clashing with second place Napoli, while Man City host Villareal in a "mustwin" situation.  Manchester United find themselveslooking for their first win, after drawing their first two matches of thetournament.  Group D fields its two leaders, Real Madridand Lyon, against each other to round out our lunchtimefixtures.  Tuesday evening we have CONCACAF Champions League on tap, withthe highlight match pitting Dallas vs. Toronto. The winner advances, the loser goes home.

Wednesday is another full day of Champions League play.  At lunchtime Marseillehosts Arsenal, with the winner going top of Group F. Also in action are Barcelona, AC Milan, andChelsea.  Barca and Milan sit tied atop Group H, and should haveno trouble notching another win.  Chelsea face last place Genk, while BayerLeverkusen and Valencia battle to keep the pressureon group leaders Chelsea.  The evening holds two very entertaining matchesin store for us.  Portland attempts to stay alive in thehunt for the final MLS playoff spot, as they are away to D.C.United.  Our ColoradoRapids travel to Torreon, Mexico to take on SantosLaguna in CCL play.   A win assures the Rapids of advancingto the second round, although they may still advance with a tie or even a loss(depending on what happens in the Real Espana v Isidro Metapan fixture). The game kicks off at 6pm, which conveniently falls into our Happy Hourwindow.

Thursday lunchtime brings us the Europa League, withBirmingham, Stoke, Tottenham, and Fulham from the EPL allin action.  In the evening the New York Red Bulls try tospoil the party for Philadelphia, who have a chance to win theEastern Conference.  This game has plenty of other playoffimplications, including the Rapids wild card positioning.

On the weekend we start early Saturday AM with the Wolvestaking on Swansea.  At 8am Newcastleface Wigan, and try to extend their unbeaten start to the2011/12 campaign.  Liverpool is in action in the 10:30amslot, followed by Real Madrid and Barcelonain the early afternoon.  The evening is full of important MLS fixtures, not the least of which is Coloradotaking on a streaking Vancouver in their final match of theregular season.  A win for the Rapids solidifies second place in thewild card race, guaranteeing a mid week home playoff match.  This matchkicks off at 5pm, and both Pubs will be hosting away game viewingparties.  Drop in and enjoy some Happy Hour beers, while supporting yourhometown team!  Other important MLS matches that evening include the SaltLake v Portland fixture, and Columbusv Chicago.  Late Saturday night we have the RugbyWorld Cup Final between New Zealand andFrance.  This match kicks off at 2am, so get in early toget your drink on.  The kitchen will be open late, serving a full menu tocelebrate the finale of this great tournament!

Sunday morning holds a great match in store, with the much anticipatedManchester Derby kicking off at 6:30am.  After eight gamesManchester City hold a two point advantage over their counterparts,Manchester United.  This clash is for top of the table in thePrem, and so much more for a City side that has lived in the constant shadow ofpowerhouse United.  Arsenal, Everton, Fulham, Chelsea,QPR, and Stoke are also in action Sunday morning.  Looks to be agreat week of football ahead of us. Lets hope our Rapids can secure their berthin the second round of the CCL, and wrap up home advantage in the wild cardplayoff.
