TheEuropean Championship takes a break today, putting the focus on our Colorado Rapids. They will be fighting forthree points against the San Jose Earthquakes tonight at Dicks SportingGoods Park, after coming off a disappointing loss to Vancouver last weekend.San Jose holds an eight point advantage over the Rapids, with both teams havingplayed fourteen games in the 2012 campaign. The Rapids will be looking for anoffense that was MIA last week at Vancouver, and hoping for the return ofMarvell Wynne to shore up a shaky defense. On the bright side of things OmarCummings may make his return from a nagging ankle injury, and Jamie Smith couldvery well see some action in the midfield as well. A Bus will be running fromthe Pub with a 6:30pm departure (reservations can be made here out and support your hometown Club in this crucial Western Conferencebattle!


TheEuropean Championship is moving into the Quarterfinal stage, and we have theCzech Republic taking on Portugal to kick off the second round thisThursday. This one could be any ones game, with the Portuguese dependinglargely on the in form Christiano Ronaldo. Friday, Germany face heavyunderdogs Greece. The Germans have been firing on all cylinders, andthey look good for a Semifinal spot. Greece can defend though, and they knowhow to poach a goal when the opportunity presents itself. The Pub is featuringlunchtime specials both days, in addition to our European Championship beerspecials.


On theweekend we have two mouth watering Quarterfinal fixtures. Saturday, reigningWorld (and European) Champions Spain face France in what is boundto be a fantastic clash. Sunday group winners England take on Italyfor a chance at the Semifinals. There is plenty of history behind both of thesematches, as old foes meet once again with everything at stake. The Pub will beopen at 9:30am both weekend days, and we will be serving breakfast andfeaturing our usual weekend Happy Hour (we will be serving our traditionalSunday Roast starting at 2pm during and after the England match).


Dontmiss a rocking night of Blues as the Maynard Mills Band ( will beperforming live this Friday night at the Three Lions. Show starts at 9:30pm,and we will be collecting a five dollar cover at the door. Maynard rockseverything from Mississippi Delta to Chicago style Blues, andhell be sure to light up the Lions this Friday!


Fillingout the rest of the weekend we have a full schedule of domestic football, withthe highlight match falling Sunday at 3pm (right after the Euro Quarterfinal). Portlandhost Seattle in a Pacific Northwest Derby. These two sides have quitethe rivalry, and the atmosphere will be tremendous for this Sunday afternoonfixture.


On the Horizon


Nextweek we have the European Championship Semifinals midweek. Saturdaynight our Colorado Rapids host thePortland Timbers in another important Western Conference battle, with theBSG hosting a huge tailgate. Sunday (July 1st) the European ChampionshipFinal kicks off at 12:45pm.

EuropeanChampionship 2012:Euro 2012 is moving into the second round, with Quarterfinal matches beginningThursday afternoon. Get in early as the vast majority of tables are first comefirst serve. We have also made the addition of a private VIP lounge thatis available for up to 25 people (contact Jon for more details). We will beadding brand new televisions and tables to other areas of the Pub to helpoptimize every ones viewing experience for this massive event. The Lions willbe running beer specials throughout the tournament, and will feature everymatch live with volume. Be sure to join us for what promises to be anincredible month of World Football!


ThreeLions Summer Blues Series: Once a month the Lions will host live Blues with some ofDenvers best local acts. Save the date, as the Maynard Mills Blues Revue ( kicks offthe series on Friday June 22nd @ 9:30pm ($5 Cover at the door). The Informants(, voted Denvers bestBlues band three years running, will light up the Lions on Friday July 27th@9:30pm ($10 Cover at the door, or $7.50 in advance). We finish our Summermusic series Friday August 10th at 9:30pm ($5 cover at the door) with the rockingcountry blues sounds of Reckless Red ( Join us for whatpromises to be three incredible nights of live music at the Lions!
