World Football Update - Jul 18th 2012
Feature Matches

Wednesday is a big football day at the Lions, with live action commencing at eleven AM, and carrying on throughout the evening. Highlights of the day include aManchester United friendly mid-day, the Colorado Rapids take onToronto away in the early evening, and Seattle face Champions League winners Chelsea at 7:30pm.

Our weekend football starts a bit early with an 2012 Olympic tune-up match betweenGreat Britain and Brazil kicking off at lunchtime on Friday (12:30pm). Brazil are one of the favorites to take Olympic Gold, and they face a united Great Britain side with Welshman Ryan Giggs as Captain. Saturday the Pub will be open at 9am, with the days football commencing at noon. Manchester United has their second friendly of their South African tour, followed byToronto taking on Liverpool FC in the World Football Challenge. The highlight match of the day will be our Colorado Rapids taking on heated rivals Salt Lake away. It has been a long time since the Rapids have managed a win against RSL, and it would be a diamond in the rough if they can pull it off away from home. The away game viewing party kicks off at 7pm, but be sure to get in early to nab a table, and enjoy some Happy Hour libations.

Our weekend wraps up Sunday with two decent matches, both kicking off at 5pm.Vancouver takes on San Jose in an MLS Western Conference battle, while Paris St. Germain face Chelsea in the World Football Challenge. PSG has spent a tremendous amount of money, as they try to rise in to the ranks of other European powerhouses. What better way to test their mettle than against the Champions of Europe?
