Feature Matches

After a less than stellar performance in Costa Rica, the USMNT attempt to get back to their winning ways against Mexico on Tuesday night!  They will need to be better, a lot better, as they are without Mike Bradley, Jozy Altidore, Matt Besler, and Geoff Cameron.  Klinsmann has strengthened the squad, with the addition of Brad Davis, Joe Corona, and Clarence Goodson.  The USA must be stronger from the start, as they face a Mexico side on the verge of elimination from the 2014 Cup.  Mexico sacked their Manager Saturday morning, bringing in Luis Fernando Tena in the interim.  El Tri will be desperate for three points, and will lean heavily on Javier Hernandez (Chicharito) to produce the goals.  The USA will be looking to Clint Dempsey, Eddie Johnson, and perhaps newcomer Aron Johannsson to lead the attack.  More importantly Tim Howard will need to have a much better game in the nets, otherwise his spot as #1 may become up for grabs.  The match kicks off at 6pm, so get in early to nab a seat and enjoy our Happy Hour!

In Europe there are two big lunchtime (MST) clashes on Tuesday, with England facing Ukraine and Italy taking on the Czech Republic.  England are precariously positioned at the top of their Group, with both Montenegro and Ukraine breathing down their necks.  A win here would virtually secure there place, as they are well ahead on goal differential.  A loss and things begin to get a bit tricky for them.  The Czech Republic may not be within striking distance of Italy at the top of their Group, but they are still fighting Bulgaria for a playoff spot.  Both of these huge matches kick off at 12:45pm.  Finally we have a great mid afternoon WCQ, with Uruguay taking on Colombia right before the USA v Mexico kick off.  Don't miss any of the action, as teams from around the World fight to solidify their spot in the 2014 Cup!

Our Colorado Rapids pulled off a huge away win against the Galaxy last week, but there is no rest for the weary in the MLS' Western Conference.  They face Dallas at home this Saturday night, with a 7pm kick off.  Dallas currently sits 2 points adrift of Colorado with a game in hand, making this a virtual must win for the Rapids.  Gabby Torres will be returning from International duty, where he will face off against his Panamanian teammate Blas Perez!  Be sure to grab tickets, and book a shuttle spot from the Pub, to get out in support of the Rapids playoff push ( www.coloradosupporters.com/reservations )!

On the Horizon

Next week we feature the Champions League Group Stages on Tuesday and Wednesday.  The Rapids travel to Portland for a Friday night primetime clash, and Manchester City battle Manchester United Sunday morning!
