World Football Update
Feature Matches

It is an International break for Club football, with both Friendlies and World Cup Qualifiers on tap at the Pub this week!  The action starts Wednesday with our CONCACAF rivals Mexico playing the first leg of their two game series with New Zealand.  El Tri's form was hardly good enough to get them in to this playoff match, and without the help of the USA on the final day of the Hex, they would already be sitting out the 2014 Cup.  It will be interesting to see how they handle this opportunity, given New Zealand's improvement on the World stage in the last World Cup cycle.  The two sides met at Invesco a few years back, with Mexico coasting to an easy 3-0 victory over the All Whites.  It should be a much tighter scoreline this time, given what is at stake for the winner.

Friday lunchtime brings some terrific Friendlies and World Cup Qualification matches, with Portugal facing Sweden in a WCQ to start the day.  The other three Qualifiers from Europe (Ukraine v France, Iceland v Croatia, and Greece v Romania) are only available on ESPN3's Livestream.  We have a great internet connection so feel free to bring in your laptop and stream the matches live.  Friday's line up also features three big Friendlies, with Italy taking on Germany, the USA facing Scotland, and England battling Chile!

Saturday and Sunday we start the day with more World Cup Qualification matches live from Africa.  Saturday Nigeria kick off against Ethiopia at 8am, followed by Senegal and Ivory Coast at noon.  Spain and Brazil round out Saturday's football with Friendlies against their respective opponents.  Sunday we shake things up a bit, starting the day with Cameroon v Tunisia in a WCQ, then moving to the United States Formula 1 Grand Prix, and finishing the day with a huge game for the Denver Broncos against the Kansas City Chiefs!

On the Horizon

Next week the second leg of the remaining World Cup Qualification matches takes place Tuesday and Wednesday, and then back to European Club football and MLS Playoffs on the weekend!
