World Football Update
Feature Matches

The gas pedal is on the floor, as the football world races towards the World Cup in June!  Players and teams from around the world are raising their game, and big matches abound as we move forward.  The English Premier League, and Spain's La Liga, are seeing their most competitive season in years.  Whether it is the race for the title or a Champions League spot, or the battle for relegation, every match is meaningful as we head towards the home stretch of the campaign.  This week we feature the first leg of the Copa Del Rey Semifinals to kick things off. Atletico Madrid face cross town rivals Real Madrid in an epic Madrid Derby Semifinal, while Barcelona face off against Real Sociedad!  Both matches fall back to back Wednesday afternoon.

The weekend starts out with a bang, as we have League leaders Arsenal hosting an in form Liverpool side.  Kick off is 5:45am Saturday morning for this huge clash, with title hopes for both sides hanging in the balance.  Our feature match at 8am pits Chelsea against Newcastle, and in the 10:30am slot we have the Welsh Derby to look forward to.  The day finishes with La Liga and Serie A action.

EPL action kicks off our Sunday schedule, with Tottenham hosting Everton, in a clash between 5th and 6th in the table.  Both clubs are still in the hunt for both a Champions League spot, and the EPL title.  At 7am we have the Rome Derby between Roma and Lazio, which is one of Italian football's top rivalries.  Manchester United take on Fulham in the 9am slot, hoping to wash away the bitter taste of their defeat to Stoke City last week.  The weekend finishes with La Liga, and Serie A action.

One other item of note this week, the 2014 Winter Olympics begin Thursday, and run for eighteen consecutive days throughout the month of February.  Catch all the excitement at Colfax Avenue's best sports pub, and don't forget we have an awesome Happy Hour twice daily (and three times a day on the weekends).  Cheers!

On the Horizon

Next week we feature a full gameweek of EPL on Tuesday and Wednesday, including Arsenal v Manchester United.  We also have the second leg of the Copa Del Rey Semifinals midweek.  The weekend will be no less exciting, with FA Cup fifth round action both Saturday and Sunday.  Feature matches include Manchester City v Chelsea, and Arsenal v Liverpool!
