World Football Update
Feature Matches

A full slate of English Premier League fixtures kick off our gameweek, with matches falling Tuesday and Wednesday.  The race has gone even tighter at the top of the table, with Arsenal getting demolished at Anfield.  Chelsea has gone top by a point, with the Gunners sandwiched in between them and Manchester City.  Liverpool and Tottenham remain in the hunt, with the Reds six points out of first, and the Spurs nine points adrift.  The fight to avoid relegation is epic, with tenth  through twentieth only seperated by seven points.  An amazing year in English football to say the least!

In other midweek action the Copa del Rey Semifinals wrap up.  Atletico Madrid face Real Madrid, with a mountain to climb if they want to return to this years Final.  Barcelona have a fairly comfortable lead over Real Sociedad, but Sociedad can be troublesome at home.  The Finals will be set by late Wednesday afternoon, and I'm probably not the only one looking forward to a Clasico Final!

It's an FA Cup weekend, and perhaps you could call it a weekend of revenge.  Both Manchester City and Arsenal were recently stung by their respective FA Cup Fifth Round opponents, and will have the chance at redemption here.  Manchester City face Chelsea once again at home, while Arsenal hope their luck will be better against Liverpool at the Emirates.  La Liga and Serie A feature throughout the weekend as well, and of course the Winter Olympics will be on when the football subsides!

On the Horizon

Next week the Champions League Round of 16 kicks off, with Manchester City taking on Barcelona, and Arsenal battling Bayern Munchen!  On the weekend it's back to Club Football, with EPL, La Liga, and Serie A featuring.
