Congrats to the amazing United States Women's National Team for bringing home their third World Cup title this past week!  Now the focus turns to the U.S. Men's Team, and the 2015 Gold Cup!  A berth in the 2017 Confederations Cup is on the line, so there is plenty to play for here (besides proving you are the best team in CONCACAF).  If the USA wins they are automatically invited to the Confederations Cup tournament, to be held in Russia a year before the World Cup.  If not, then whoever takes this year's Gold Cup title will earn a one match playoff with the United States to see who goes to Russia in 2017!

First up for the U.S. Men is Honduras, kicking off at 7:30pm tonight.  The Hondurans will play a five man back line, with the goal of frustrating the Americans.  Klinsmann's side are in great form, coming off four straight wins, including the demolition of Guatemala last Friday!  The USA Men will be back in action on Friday night against regional minnows Haiti, and they finish the Group Stage Monday against a much more difficult Panama.  Other Gold Cup highlights this week include Group B action on Wednesday and Saturday nights, and Group C featuring Thursday and Sunday!  Costa Rica are expected to be the United States toughest competition in the tournament, and our old rivals Mexico will have something to prove as well!

The Colorado Rapids are coming off a huge win over Vancouver on the Fourth of July, and are now set to face their rivals Salt Lake on Saturday night!  This match could be another huge step forward for our hometown club, and will be critical in terms of setting the stage for a 2015 Rocky Mountain Cup win!  Make sure to get out in support of the Rapids!  As always shuttle buses will be available from the Pub for this massive match, provided by the Rapids Supporters Groups!

On the Horizon

Next week the USMNT finish out the Gold Cup Group Stage Monday evening against Panama!  If they advance from the Group they will likely play Saturday afternoon in the Quarterfinals.  The Colorado Rapids travel to Seattle next Saturday night to take on the Western Conference leading Sounders!  We'll also be featuring the FIFA Beach World Cup Semi's and Final, and some action from the Emirates Cup and the International Champions Cup!
