Colorado unable to convert posession into win against San Jose
Rapids fall to Earthquakes on controversial goal.
May 2nd 2010

Despite complete control of the ball throughout the game, the Colorado Rapids fell to Western Conference rivals San Jose at Buck Shaw Stadium on the campus of Santa Clara University.

The only goal of the game came on a suspect play in which Chris Wondolowski broke free and slotted it past Matt Pickens. Frustratingly for the Rapids, however, Wondolowski broke in from an offside position that was not caught by the linesman.

Of note for the Rapids, Claudio Lopez made his league debut for the team as a second half substitute.

Colorado will have little time to lament the loss, as they resume play on Wednesday against first place Los Angeles back at DSG Park.
